Transport
The event site is approximately 1 hour's drive south of Canberra, mostly on the Monaro Highway but with a section of good quality gravel road to the Hash House located in a farm paddock. For those coming from further afield, driving times are approximately 4.5 hours from Sydney, and 8 hours from Melbourne. Please try and car pool to reduce traffic and parking at the site. If you do drive please have a sleep before driving after the event is over. Even one hour of driving is too far for sleepy rogainers.
BUS IT THERE AND BACK
We strongly encourage rogainers who intend to stay out for all or most of the event to seriously consider catching the event bus. It is a much safer option.
To the event on Friday: There will be a bus running from Sydney with a pick up in Canberra. The Sydney bus will pick up from Central Station at 2pm Friday and, on the way through Canberra, will pick-up at Majura Park (near Ikea) and the airport (if required). It is anticipated that this bus will leave Canberra about 5.30pm. For those arriving in Canberra later (eg Adelaide or Melbourne flights) but still wanting a ride to the event on Friday night, send us an email and we will try and match you up with cars going later on Friday.
To the event on Saturday: There will be another bus leaving Canberra at 6:45am from the Russell Offices carpark on Saturday morning. Arrival at the event centre is expected to be 8:15am.
From the event on Sunday: The return buses (2) will leave the Hash House at 2pm. One will terminate in Canberra with the first drop off at the airport and then Russell Offices. The other bus will continue to Sydney. Canberra arrival about 4pm and Sydney a few hours later.
You will need to book a seat on the bus through the 'order extras' section via the entry tab. For the Sydney bus, please book by 21st April. (This provides time to order the correct size bus.)
For the Canberra bus on Saturday morning please book by 1 May. After that date, contact us to check seat availability.
There is also the option of catching the bus one way - ie to the event or back to Canberra after the event.
