A superb summer Twilight event Print E-mail

The 2015 Twilight event in the Ainslie - Majura Nature Park was held on a warm summer evening.  Glenn Bridgart set a great course taking in spots that people in their regular walks and rides would never go.  The top teams were set the challenge of collecting all the controls faster than any other teams while the majority of people found plenty to keep them occupied until the finish right on dark. It was fantastic to see the range of competitors we had from babies in backpacks, juniors and uni students, through to ultravets. Congratulations to Lizzie Ingham and Lachlan Dow for winning overall. For the other winners and to see how you went look at the results page.  There are lots of photos on the ACTRA SmugMug gallery. A huge thank-you to the volunteers who ran the event smoothly and also catered for many hungry rogainers.

Entries are now open for the Summer Twilight event - Saturday 7 February! Print E-mail

Entries are now open for the first ACTRA event for 2015, a Summer Twilight event in the Ainslie-Majura Nature Park. For those of you who have rogained or orienteered here know it is pleasantly open bush with lots of trails and views over the city. Come and challenge yourself in the evening and a short amount of dark with a 200 minutes rogaine (5:10 pm to 8:30 pm). The event is timed to finish at civil twilight – that’s right on dark. A great way to spend a Saturday evening. Event entries are open to 4 February - $20 full entry/$15 concession, children under 14 years are free. Normal rogaining rules apply, no solo entries for this event.

If there has been a total fire ban declared we will postpone until the following week – Saturday 14 February. Helpers on the day and collectors are needed for this event so if you can help out please contact Glenn.
