Virtualgaine Results

The 2025 4-Hour Virtualgaine recently took place in the inner south with a great course set by Jon Glanville. Congratulations to our overall winner, Chris Bradley who, not content with clearing the course in 3 hours, 24 minutes, came back a week later to clear it 26 minutes faster.

Other notable category winners were fourth placed Mens Youth team of Hamish Mcewen and Owen Chenhall; Jonathan Ricks missing only 1 control and winning Mens Veterans; Craig Wisdom winning the Mens Supervets and Ultravets; Amber Mcculloch first in womens; Olivia Yates and Martin Duong as the first mixed team; and Craig, Archie, Kerrie and Zahlia Cowan again the first family team.

If you would like to still do the course (just without an official result) you still can! The map and MapRun instructions are available on the event page.

We are still in need of volunteers for the event. Anything from help with hanging or collecting controls, to admin on the day would be most appreciated. If you are interested, please contact Daniel using the Contact Committee button at the bottom of this email.

‍President's Piece

‍The Canberra winter has well and truly set in, with snow blanketing the trails during my long run up Mt Gingera over the weekend. The conditions made for some difficult running - but the stunning views from the top were well worth the effort.

This run was a perfect bit of last-minute training, as I’m about to head to the other side of the world for the 2025 World Rogaining Championships, held in the mountainous “Sierra de Pinares” region of Spain. I’m expecting it to be much warmer over there - hopefully not too hot during the day!

A number of ACT and Australian teams are also making the journey to WRC2025, and I know they’ll all smash it. There’ll be a live tracking page, so keep an eye out for my team, Can-Bruh Adven-Chur (with E Wen Wong), as well as other ACT teams: Jonste Glanvoggs, Big Mandarins, and Quinn Baldwin.

Happy rogaining,

Ollie James
