2006 ACT Rogaine Championships

8 hour /
24 hour
8th-9th July 2006
12 noon - 8pm Saturday (8hr)
12 noon Sat - 12 noon Sun (24hr)

Course Description

An area of lovely beaches and lakes, rocky coastline, coastal heath and banksia scrub, mixed eucalypt and casuarina forest with a dash of rainforest in the Bournda National Park and Nature Reserve. If you're lucky you might spot some glossy black cockatoos!

Altitude ranges from sea level to around 300m. There are numerous walking trails in the National Park for less experienced rogainers, while the Nature Reserve has very few tracks and will present some navigational challenges for those teams aiming to complete most of the course.

The event is based at the beautiful Hobart Beach campground (hot showers!) on the shores of Lake Wallagoot - entry fee includes camping on Saturday night for all teams in both the 8 and 24 hour events and also full catering from 5pm Saturday through to Sunday lunch. For that reason the entry fee is the same for both events. 8 hour competitors are strongly encouraged for safety reasons to camp on Saturday night and enjoy breakfast before driving home. All competitors are welcome to camp Sunday night as well - pay at the event.
