Spring into the spring rogaine: 27 October 2018 Print E-mail

Clear the decks and come and clear your head.  The spring flowers are ready for the last ACT Rogaine for the year in the Mount Clear area and some new territory to the south in NSW.

It is being held (mainly) in Namadgi National Park in southern ACT.  It’s a great area with grassy plains, open forest and a bit of history.  You can choose the 6 hour or a 12 hour event, with both events starting at 11am on Saturday 27th October.

The Hash House is at the northern end of the course and the Hartley team will be there to fuel you up on your return.  There are a few fire trails for speedier travel and controls near the Hash House will be easier navigation.  Not so further out!

We had a small problem with the entry system that meant some teams may not have been able to enter or their entry has not shown up. Please check the team page to ensure your entry is there. If not, please put in a new entry and don't pay the $10 per person entry fee - just the standard entry fee of $37 full or $30 concession.

See you there!

Barkley: Metrogaine 2018 Race Report Print E-mail
After a busy time in the Flinders Rangers winning the South Australian Rogaine Champs with his two hangers oners Julie and David, Barclay decided he'd like a chilled Metrogaine. https://photos.smugmug.com/2018-Events/2018-Metrogaine-1/i-4SW4rcd/0/9aa40141/L/IMG_20180812_125510777-L.jpg
He looked around at all assembled on Sunday morning and settled on two young fellows, Sam and Angus. They looked like the kind of kids Barclay wanted to spend the day with. What he didn't see though was the two caffeine addicted adults that accompanied these boys.

Wingello Night/Day/Cycle rogaine on 1-2 Sept Print E-mail

The Night/Day/Cycle/Everythingelsegaine has been run and won for 2018. Swelled by the welcome addition of

ANU’s Inward Bound hopefuls, over 300 participants enjoyed a diverse challenge at Wingello State Forest on the weekend of 1-2 September.

Seb Dunne, Michael Reed and Emily Stewart-Reed brought all their endurance race expertise to bear to ensure there was something in it for walkers, runners and cyclists alike.

Congratulations to Jack Brand backing up for a win with one team in the cycle event on Sunday, after winning the Saturday event with another team the night before. It was great to see top honours on Sunday being taken out by an all women’s team (Keira Doherty, Alex Grant, Sasha Lee) in the day event and a mixed team in the cycle, but it was Barkley who stole the show by leading three generations of the Saw family across the line as first family on Fathers Day. Thanks to all our volunteers and especially to Hartley for a hot breakfast in addition to their usual tasty treats.
