South Coast glory for ACT Champions Print E-mail

Dane Roberts, helped by the other setters and vetters Jonathan Miller, Graham Atkins, Keith Conley and Tom Brazier, set a course to amaze and challenge everyone. Rogainers in both the 8 and 24 hr events were able to sample the amazing Murramarang National Park's tall spotted gums, rainforest vines and palms, coastal scenery (including orcas offshore), and ticks. Some teams crossed under the highway to the South Brooman State Forest to find open shady gullies and dry spurs.

Congratulations to Harry Andrews and Thomas Larkin who won the 8 hr event from Lee Rice and Craig Cowan. Congratulations to David Baldwin and Julie Quinn who are the 2017 ACT Champions (overall). Ronnie Taib and David Williams are the 2017 ACT Mens Champions and Ellen Braybon and Nicole Mealing are the 2017 Womens Champions. Special mention to the super effort of our Victorian friends Merv Trease and Vic Sedunary who took out the Mens Ultravet, Mens Supervet, Mens Vets and were second in the Open Mens! Other winners and preliminary results are on the event page, photos on the Smugmug site, and Strava Fly-bys of some teams.

Thank you to all the other helpers Glenn Bridgart, Jiaying Goh, Mark Jenkins.
