Vale Ian Booth - a thank you from Anna |
Julia and I have been deeply touched by the beautiful messages we have received; by the flowers which have brought colour and beauty into our cold, sad home; and by the numbers of rogainers who were able to attend Ian's picnic at the Botanic Gardens. Ian became an enthusiastic bushwalker many, many years ago. When he was introduced to rogaining he had found a sport which he loved. His love of the bush, his optimism, cheerfulness, and endurance made him a delightful rogaining partner. He was looking forward to the ACT Rogaine Championship and another opportunity for mental and physical challenges, fun, and adventure.
He was always happy to help by organising events, course setting, and controlling. On any trip through the bush Ian would be looking out for suitable rogaining country. Julia and I thank you all so much for your friendship and support and wish you all the very best. Anna and Julia Booth.

Multi-sport 6 hr rogaine - Sunday 3 April |

The multi-sport rogaine was held on a perfect day - sunny, warm and no wind. There was a good mix of rogainers out with some opting to only walk while others had brought bikes and/or kayaks. A few hardy teams took on the challenge of a lap right around the dam, including the winning bike team of Steve Hanley and Aaron Coles. However, the winning foot team of Mike and Marg Harrap were not too far behind on total points. Check out the photos and full results. |

2011 Paddy Pallin rogaine report |
The 2011 Paddy Pallin rogaine was held in ideal autumn weather on 6 March, with blue skies and temperatures in the high teens.
The event was held in and around Rob Roy Nature Reserve, between Tharwa and Tuggeranong. The hilly course rewarded rogainers with frequent controls and beautiful views: the hash house site provided superb views up the western flank of Rob Roy and towards Mt Tennant.
