The ACT Rogaining Association Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held on 1 March following the Paddy Pallin 6hr Event.
The following committee members were voted in for 2015 and will be undertaking the following roles:
President: Julie Quinn
Vice-President and Membership Secretary: Susie Sprague
Secretary: Glenn Bridgart
Treasurer: Clare Edwards
Publicity Officer: Jonathan Miller
Volunteer Coordinator: Wayne Gregson
Equipment Officers: Jean Douglass and Doug Collier
Australian Rogaining Association Officer and Webmaster: David Baldwin
General Committee: Aaron Coles, Dane Roberts and Debra Foggin
Thanks to the Committee for volunteering to help run our organisation in 2015! Contact details of the Committee can be found here. Please contact them to provide feedback on events, share your photos or stories, volunteer or suggest event locations.
We were also remiss in passing on the Member Protection Information Officer report from 2014 at the AGM. Sarah Cowdery reported that she received no requests for assistance in 2014. See her report below.
If anyone is interested in returning to this area or missed out on its delights, we need people to collect controls. Please contact David Baldwin.
Saturday was a warm clear day and around 280 ANU students were out learning and testing their navigational skills ready for their Inward Bound competition in 4 weeks time.
On Sunday a thunderstorm mid-event did little to dampen the enthusiasm of the field of 170, with Olympic marathon runner Martin Dent teaming up with Brad Hetharia to win from Paul Cuthbert and visiting orienteer Lukas Frei. Julie Quinn and Simon Fairweather were third overall, winning the mixed category, and Lizzie Ingram and Sarah Buckerfield won the women's.
Check the photo gallery for photos from the event. We are interested in any feedback on splitting the event across the 2 days. It certainly reduced the crowding for parking, portaloos and catering.
A big thank you to all the landholders for sharing their wonderful properties with us, to all the volunteers for their efforts in making the event run so smoothly, and to the Jerangle School for the delicious food!
And don't miss this! Marco Ernst from Team 53 has produced a delightful video clip of his adventures on the Paddy Pallin rogaine!

A superb summer Twilight event
The 2015 Twilight event in the Ainslie - Majura Nature Park was held on a warm summer evening. Glenn Bridgart set a great course taking in spots that people in their regular walks and rides would never go. The top teams were set the challenge of collecting all the controls faster than any other teams while the majority of people found plenty to keep them occupied until the finish right on dark. It was fantastic to see the range of competitors we had from babies in backpacks, juniors and uni students, through to ultravets. Congratulations to Lizzie Ingham and Lachlan Dow for winning overall. For the other winners and to see how you went look at the results page. There are lots of photos on the ACTRA SmugMug gallery. A huge thank-you to the volunteers who ran the event smoothly and also catered for many hungry rogainers.
A very merry Christmas and happy new year to all rogainers.
Our first event for 2015 will be a twilight event on Saturday 7 February 2015. If there is a total fire ban that day we will postpone for a week to Saturday 14 February. Mark it in your new calendar or diary now because it is bound to sneak up on you in the new year.
ACTRA memberships will also be due from 1 January, as we run a calendar year system for our memberships.
